Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. announced that Izan Guevara will join the Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP team for the 2027 season.
The Spaniard’s promotion from Moto2 marks a significant milestone for Yamaha’s BLU CRU rider development programme and reinforces the manufacturer’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of MotoGP talent.
The Spaniard demonstrated exceptional potential when he won the Moto3 World Championship in 2022 and has continued to impress during the 2026 Moto2 World Championship campaign, where he remains a leading contender for the title, holding second place in the standings after the British GP.
Guevara’s promotion represents another important milestone for Yamaha’s BLU CRU development programme, highlighting Yamaha’s commitment to identifying, supporting, and developing future stars from the earliest stages of their racing careers.
With MotoGP entering a new technical era in 2027, featuring 850cc machinery and a different tyre manufacturer, Yamaha believes the timing is ideal for Guevara to make the step into the premier class.
“This is a dream come true for me,” Guevara said. “Reaching MotoGP has always been my goal, and I know how difficult it is to arrive in the premier class. It has taken many years of hard work and sacrifices from a lot of people around me.
“I want to thank Yamaha for the confidence they have shown in me. This opportunity is not only the result of my own efforts, but also of the support I have received from my parents, my team, my physio, and everyone who has helped me grow both as a rider and as a person.”
