Summer Nationals Is Approaching Quickly

CONCORD, N.C.  — The DIRTcar Summer Nationals and Summit Racing Equipment Modified Nationals competition will begin in one month, reigniting the season’s hottest tour once again.

The 2025 edition of the Hell Tour features 31 races in 34 days, with visits across nine states, including Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Missouri, Tennessee, Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio.

Points fund money amassing over $150,000 will be distributed on a weekly basis to the Late Models, with $10,000 to the points champion of each week. Overall points standings will also be kept, awarding another $10,000 bonus to the 2025 DIRTcar Summer Nationals champion.

The Summit Modifieds will race in 27 races through the 34-day schedule and will then continue to Fairbury Speedway for their season finale at the Prairie Dirt Classic on July 25-26, with a $5,000 check going to the 2025 Modified champion.

DOUBLE DEBUT

Entering the 2025 Summer Nationals schedule for the first time, Lee County Speedway and Duck River Raceway Park will host both the late models and modifieds.

Lee County, located in Donnellson, Iowa, makes its debut on Thursday, June 19. Operating for over 100 years, the track is the 14th different Iowa track to host the Hell Tour, and the second visit to the Hawkeye State in the 2025 season.

Duck River, located in Wheel, Tenn., will open its high banks to the Summer Nationals June 6. The quarter-mile track has hosted the national and regional divisions of Super Late Models in its 50-plus-year history, and becomes the fourth Volunteer State track to make its introduction.

TERBO CHARGED

Reigning Summer Nationals Late Model champion Tyler Erb returns to the Summer Nationals in 2025 intending to earn his second consecutive title.

In his first journey in 2024, the New Waverly, Texas, pilot earned 11 feature wins for his first title in what he dubbed “The Fun Tour.”

Erb found victory lane in 2025 in his Best Performance Motorsports No. 1T twice – once at Tazewell Speedway, and with the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Models in the Dairyland Showdown at Mississippi Thunder Speedway.

FLORIDA INVASION

Kyle Bronson and Trey Mills are two Sunshine State natives who will try their hand at chasing their first Hell Tour championship.

Bronson, from Brandon, Fla., is a three-time winner with the World of Outlaws, with his most recent series triumph coming in 2023 at Tri-City Speedway. The Longhorn Chassis No. 40B driver also has one Hell Tour win, coming in 2019 at Tri-City.

Mills, from St. Augustine, Fla., completed his first full super late model season in 2023 with the Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series, earning rookie-of-the-year honors and a win at Whynot Motorsports Park. The 17-year-old standout made his first appearance on the Summer Nationals in 2024, earning three top fives and a career-high second-place finish at Wayne County Speedway in the final week.

Hell Tour vs. Outlaws

The finale to Week 2 has the Summer Nationals squaring up with the World of Outlaws at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park.

The two-day St. Louis Firecracker Faceoff offers $12,000-to-win on Friday, and $20,000-to-win in Saturday night’s finale around the Pevely, MO track. Along with the Summit Modifieds, the Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series presented by Toyota will circle the third-mile in their first of two trips in 2025.

The last time the Hell Tour and the Outlaws crossed paths was in 2023, with three-time Hell Tour champion and 2022 Outlaw champion Dennis Erb Jr. claiming victory between the two nights.
