Emerling Aces New Smyrna’s Blewett Memorial

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. — Patrick Emerling is having a week to remember during the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway.

Starting the week by winning Saturday’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour event, Emerling collected his third win in four races, capturing Wednesday’s John Blewett III Memorial at the half-mile race track.

Emerling ripped from third to the lead when he passed Tommy Catalano and Matt Hirschman on lap 69 of the 76-lap affair.

Emerling led the rest of the way for the victory.

Stephen Kopcik came on strong at the finish to take third spot, while Hirschman, Tyler Rypkema and Jake Lutz completed the top five.

Carson Brown led all 35 laps of the super late model feature to post his second triumph of the week. Gavan Boschele finished second.

Hunter Wright was declared the winner in the pro late model class. It was his third victory of the week.

Nickolas Havey won the 602 modified feature.
