SPA, Belgium — Kimi Antonelli has added a sixth pole position to his season tally after setting the fastest lap during qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix Saturday at Spa-Francorchamps.
The Mercedes driver took time to find a rhythm during the hour-long session, but his final effort of 1 minute and 44.361 seconds was enough to seize the top spot by three-tenths of a second over Red Bull ace Max Verstappen.
McLaren’s Lando Norris was third quick, but will start 13th because of a 10-place grid penalty for exceeding his power unit components allocation.
George Russell in the second Mercedes and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton completed the top six.
