Zilisch Has Broken Collarbone, To Miss Cup Race

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — Connor Zilisch, who won Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen Int’l, will not compete in Sunday’s Go Bowling at The Glen NASCAR Cup Series event.

Zilisch suffered a broken collarbone after falling from his car in victory lane and Trackhouse Racing elected to withdraw the No. 87 Chevrolet that Zilisch qualified for Sunday’s race.

“Thank you everybody for reaching out today,” Zilisch said Saturday night on social media. “I’m out of the hospital and getting better already. Thankfully, CT scans for my head are clear, I just have a broken collarbone. Thankful for all the medics for quick attention and grateful it wasn’t any worse.”

Zilisch registered his sixth win of the Xfinity Series season. It would have been the 19-year-old’s fourth Cup Series start on Sunday.
