Richmond Pre-Event Activities Canceled Through Friday

RICHMOND, Va. — Due to the projected impact of Tropical Storm Debby in the southeast region of the United States, all pre-event activities at Richmond Raceway have been canceled through 4 p.m. Friday, NASCAR announced on Wednesday afternoon.

“Our priority is to prepare for a safe and incredible weekend of racing for our fans,” NASCAR stated. “We look forward to welcoming them for two great nights of action on Saturday and Sunday.”

The track is set to host both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this weekend following a two-week break due to the Olympics.

RFK Racing’s Chris Buescher is the defending race winner of the Cup Series’ Cook Out 400. Denny Hamlin won at Richmond in March.
