Lightning Hold Delays Cup Series At The Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — Lightning in the area has put the NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen under a delay. 

In order for the 30-minute lightning hold to be lifted, there can’t be a lightning strike within 8 miles of the 2.45-mile road course in that time frame.

If lightning does strike within that distance, the 30-minute delay clock resets. 

When the Go Bowling At The Glen gets underway, Hendrick Motorsports teammates Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson will lead the field to the green flag.
