Veal Claims Premier Speedway Sprint

WARRNAMBOOL, Australia — Round nine of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series, which doubled as round six of the Total Tools Warrnambool Sprintcar Track Championship Saturday at Premier Speedway, was won by Jamie Veal in a flag-to-flag war of attrition.

Jack Lee drove the wheels off the No. V25 for second with Corey McCullagh settling for third. Daniel Pestka and Tate Frost rounded out the top five.

A full program of racing featuring four divisions was held with Matt Jackson setting a new 20-lap record in the Speedcar final.

Jackson claimed the win in Round 4 of the Southern Speedcar Tour from Nick Parker and Travis Mills.

The late model final went the way of New South Welshman Todd Bayley, from Tasmania’s Callum Harper with Peter Nicola showing his class in third.

The Street Stocks were at their entertaining best all night long with Morris Ahearn getting the job done in a dominant display from Shane Ardley and Hayden Jolly.
