Day Doubles Down At Placerville

PLACERVILLE, Calif. — California kid Corey Day made his final weekend of racing sprint cars for this season a big one, winning for the second time in as many nights Saturday at Placerville Speedway.

Driving Jason Meyers’ No. 14 machine, Day, who won Friday at Thunderbowl Raceway, grabbed his second consecutive Interstate Batteries High Limit Racing triumph in dominant fashion Saturday at Placerville.

Day, who will focus on his NASCAR ride with Hendrick Motorsports the remainder of the season, won his sixth feature in 13 High Limit starts this season.

To do so, he held off Californian Landon Brooks, who charged from eighth to second for his second podium finish in as many nights.

Shane Golobic, Tanner Holmes and Giovanni Scelzi completed the top five.
