INDIANAPOLIS — Matthew Brabham (No. 16 Gymweed Ford Mustang) wasn’t going to be denied his hometown pole at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
No stranger to the racetrack’s road course layout, Brabham laid down an incredible lap time in Saturday’s 15-minute qualifying session, getting around the 2.439-mile road course in 1:21.989 – nearly a full second quicker than second-place Martin Ragginger.
Brabham has been a dominant force in the Trans Am Series by Pirelli, having now swept the first six poles in the TA Class in 2026. The 21-time Trans Am winner will look to further build upon his extensive resume with a hometown victory on Sunday.
Martin Ragginger, back in the TA Class this weekend at Indianapolis, was second-fastest in qualifying, with Paul Menard in third. Chris Dyson and Tomy Drissi completed the top-five, separated from first-to-fifth by 3.8 seconds.
