LONDON — Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein took full advantage of a Full Course Yellow to waltz to the win in the 2026 Hankook London E-Prix Round 16; heading home Andretti’s Jake Dennis by five seconds for a five-point Drivers’ lead over the Brit ahead of Sunday’s finale.
The polesitter’s ultimately dominant third win of the season was sealed during the PIT BOOST window.
Werhlein was able to make use of a timely Full Course Yellow (FCY) – thrown for the recovery of Lucas di Grassi’s Lola Yamaha ABT – to make what effectively became a free pit stop with the pack neutralized by the caution.
Mitch Evans had been looking to mount a challenge from third despite the Porsches of Wehrlein and Mueller working together, against him, early on. Jaguar TCS Racing switched up his strategy to clear Mueller with an early ATTACK MODE deployment and PIT BOOST stop – forcing leader Werhlein to counter.
The FCY put paid to Evans’ charge, though, and left the Kiwi marooned 21 points back in the standings in third spot.
Dennis was another of several drivers that pitted during FCY and elected to take his ATTACK late to clamber from the cusp of the top six to second at the flag with moves by da Costa and Ticktum key in limiting Wehrlein’s new gap at the top of the Drivers’ standings to five points.
Da Costa did take third for Jaguar; important in the Teams’ battle with Porsche – the British outfit five points to the good over the Stuttgart marque.
The finale takes place at the Excel in London on Sunday 16 August, with two titles to be decided as the GEN3 era comes to a close.
