ELKHART LAKE, Wis. — For the second weekend in a row, the CD Racing team of Chris Dyson and Matthew Brabham dominated the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli TA/GT race, with the team earning its second 1-2 finish in as many races.
This time, it was Dyson’s No. 16 GYM WEED Ford Mustang that took the checkered flag, securing his second win of the 2025 season at Road America. Brabham (No. 21 GYM WEED Ford Mustang) started the race from the pole, but Dyson took the point position in the first turn and never looked back, leading until the checkered flag waved and securing his 28th-career victory.
Brabham was never far behind, holding off challenges from Adam Andretti (No. 17 Top Liner Chevrolet Camaro) and Paul Menard (No. 3 Pittsburgh Paints/Menards Ford Mustang), but he was never unseated from the runner-up position.
Third place changed hands multiple times, with Andretti and Menard swapping the spot twice in the first 20 laps. It was ultimately Andretti who would claim the final spot on the podium, as Menard suffered from a flat left-front tire late in the event, which relegated him back to an eighth-place finish.
Fourth through six was determined on the final lap, with a three-way battle between Amy Ruman (No. 23 McNichols Co./Valley Automotive Group Chevrolet Corvette), Tomy Drissi (No. 8 Trench Shoring Co./Motul Chevrolet Camaro) and Brandon Jones (No. 21 Menards/Masterforce Tools Ford Mustang) commencing when the white flag waved. In an exciting final swap of positions, Drissi and Jones both slid past Ruman, with Drissi taking fourth and Jones rounding out the top five.
“First of all, I want to say thank you so much to my team for preparing two great cars here,” said Dyson in GYM WEED Winners Circle. “This is the second weekend in a row with a 1-2 finish. That’s a really special thing for us as drivers to know that we’ve got cars that can go out and race up front together. I want to say a particular thanks to my young son, Ian, who’s here today. It’s his first time ever here at Road America. It’s a memorable, memorable relationship that my family has here with this track. For me, it goes back almost 40 years, and I just love this place more and more. Every year we come here, it just gets more special, more meaningful. The No. 16 GYM WEED car was an absolute thrill to drive. I want to say thanks to the fans for being out here and supporting us every year, and thanks to the team.”
Kaylee Bryson in the No. 02 Logical Systems Inc. Chevrolet Corvette was the sole competitor in the XGT class, so she challenged herself to set the quickest lap times she could while battling with competitors in other classes before taking the checkered flag.
Joshua Carlson in the No. 36 Enseva/Diercks Ltd./TC Fab Ford Mustang dominated the SGT class, leading the race from start to finish, continuing a seven-race win streak that dates back to the season finale at Circuit of The Americas last year. Patrick Paul (No. 34 Paul Racing Enterprises Ford Mustang) earned a second-place finish in his first time competing in the SGT class, and Tim Gray (No. 60 Ryan Companies Ford Mustang) finished third.
In his first-career Trans Am race, Colin Comer (No. 6 Colin’s Classic Auto/Liberty Firearms Ford Mustang) won the GT1 Challenge class after leading almost every lap, only surrendering the lead to Jon DeGaynor (No. 04 Speed Dream’n Racing Ford Mustang) for two laps following the lap-eight restart. DeGaynor finished second, while both Ray Kobs (No. 00 AuditWell Chevrolet Corvette) and Rob Dickey (No. 64 Forty 48 Competition Chevrolet Cam
