LE MANS — The No. 93 Peugeot 9X8 took top honors in Tuesday’s fourth annual Pit Stop Challenge held for teams and crews as a preliminary event to this weekend’s 93rd running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Launched in 2022, this contest recognizes the top crews in each class. Mechanics must change four tires as quickly as quickly as possible. The Peugeot team did its stop in 8.83 seconds to earn top honors in the Hypercar class.
The competition got fierce fast when the Ferrari-AF Corse mechanics for the No. 51 Ferrari 499P lowered the time to 9:14 and then were quickly outdone by their No. 50 teammates with a time of 9:05.
The Peugeot TotalEnergies team earned the title this year with a spectacular time of 8:83, winning the Pit Stop Challenge for the second time (2023). The No. 51 Ferrari was the 2024 winner.
The No. 183 AF Corse ORECA was the best in the LMP2 category at 10.44 seconds, while the No. 85 Iron Dames Porsche grabbed the victory in LMGT3 with a 9.53-second effort.
