WILMOT, Wis. — Zach Raidart, defending AutoMeter Wisconsin WingLESS Sprints Powered By Gandrud Performance champion, finally cracked the top 10, top five and win column all at once scoring a dominating victory in the 20-lap Border Battle with the American Sprint Car Tour Friday at Wilmot Raceway.
Raidart shot off to the lead from his front row outside starting berth, pulling away to a win by over 2.5 seconds runner-up and fellow front row starter Rusty Egan. Tim Cox, 64-year-old veteran and two-time series champion in 2022 and 2018, came across third.
Chris Klemko along with fourth place Allen Hafford and fifth John Fahl for a wild finish with those three along with Cox coming across less than eight-tenths of a second total apart.
A jubilant Raidart had the third time come through as the charm, appreciative of his team, sponsors and fans who stuck behind him after a opening night DNF on May 3 and 17th place finish on May 24.
“Finally it all came together,” said a jubilant Raidart. “Have to thank my great team and supporters, as well as the faithful fans who came out.”
