THOMPSON, Conn. — Jon Puleo held off a late charge from Keith Rocco to win Thursday night’s Tripoint Showdown for the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park.
Puleo dueled with early leader Danny Cates through the middle stages of the race and endured a late challenge from Rocco, who started in the back of the field, to win the 50-lap event on the historic five-eighths-mile asphalt track.
Isaiah Newcomb, Tyler Barry and Zach Leone completed the top five.
Tyler Chapman claimed the SK Light Modifed 30-lap event ahead of Nickolas Hovey.
Derek Gluchacki topped the late model main event and Corey Fanning aced the street stock race. Kevin Moore came home first in mini stock action.
