Pelkey Triumphs, Corliss Earns Squier Cup

BARRE, Vt. — Chris Pelkey took the checkered flag and Jason Corliss raided the Squier Cup Thursday night at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl.

Pelkey ran down leader Marcel Gravel to grab the lead and led the remainder of the distance to win the 200-lap headliner for the late models, while Gravel finished second and Taylor Hoar finished third.

Jason Corliss finished fourth and earned the coveted Squier Cup Triple Crown trophy by six points over Pelkey.

Tanner Woodard finished fifth.

Sam Caron won the Flying Tiger main event, while Dean Switser Jr. topped the street stock feature.

Mike Slingerland won the road warrior race.
