It’s May’s Day On Night One Of World Series

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – Brad May emerged as the winner of Friday’s super late model feature on the opening night of racing during the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway.

May dominated the 35-lap feature on the half-mile asphalt oval, outlasting Sammy Smith to secure the checkered flag.

“It’s the greatest teams in the country we’re racing against. I knew I was going to have to fight hard early and try to check out because I knew they’d be coming quick,” May said.

Derek Griffith, Jesse Love and Gave Sommers completed the top-five on the opening night of the World Series.

In other action, Michael Hinde topped the pro late model feature, Adam Briggs captured the sportsman main event, Tank Tucker won the Florida Modified feature and Stephen Wright celebrated a victory in the Bomber feature.

The World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing continues Saturday with the opening race of the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season headlining the action.
