Hergott Memorial Set For Beatrice Speedway

BEATRICE, Neb. — The third annual Joey Hergott Memorial is poised to become one of the richest one-night events in Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing history when it returns to Beatrice Speedway on Monday, July 13.

Headlined by a massive $16,026-to-win Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature, the event boasts the largest one-night IMCA payout ever offered in Nebraska and one of the most lucrative programs anywhere in the country during the 2026 season.

The Joey Hergott Memorial continues to grow in stature, drawing top competitors from across the Midwest and beyond while honoring the memory of a beloved member of the racing community.

Karl Kustoms IMCA Modifieds will race for a staggering $16,026 winner’s share and $1,026 to start the main event. The feature payout includes $8,000 for second, $5,000 for third, $3,000 for fourth, and $2,500 for fifth. Drivers failing to transfer into the main event will have another opportunity through the Schmidt Happens Last Chance Modified race, which features its own lucrative purse.

Sunoco IMCA Stock Cars will compete in twin $3,000-to-win segments. In addition, a driver who sweeps both segments will earn a $2,000 bonus. Additional awards include a $1,000 Hard Charger bonus and a $1,000 Overall High Finisher bonus, creating the possibility of a $10,000 payday.

In addition to the lucrative purses, the IMCA Modified winner will earn eligibility to try and qualify for the 2026 Fast Shafts All-Star Modified Invitational. The winner of the second Sunoco IMCA Stock Car segment will likewise earn eligibility to try and qualify for the 2026 B&B Racing Chassis All-Star Stock Car Invitational. Both prestigious events will be held during the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s in September.

Karl Kustoms IMCA Northern SportMods and Sunoco IMCA Hobby Stocks will each race for $3,000 to win and $200 to start, while Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts will compete for a $3,000 top prize and $40 to start.

Speedway Motors IMCA Weekly Racing National, Nebraska State, and Beatrice Speedway track points will be awarded. Modified competitors will race for Jet Racing Central Region points, the finishing order from the second Stock Car segment will determine EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region points, and Hobby Stock drivers will compete for B&B Racing Chassis Northern Region points.

Early registration fees are $250 for Modifieds, $150 for Stock Cars, $80 for Northern SportMods and Hobby Stocks, and $20 for Sport Compacts.
