WILMOT, Wis. — Mark Heinert led flag to flag in the 20-lap 11-75 Sports Complex & Eatery IRA Lightning Sprints Feature to score his second Wilmot Raceway win of the season on Father’s Day Weekend Special.
“We really thrashed on the car, but it was worth it as it ran anywhere I wanted to put it,” said Heinert, dedicating the win to his dad who was not at the track, and to other family members. “It will give us a nice Father’s Day to celebrate.”
The main was red flagged on lap seven when Jordan Funderburk flipped end over end several times in turn one. Nick Petska, who was also involved, retired for the night. Heinert, who won the Game Day Men’s Health presents Behling Race Equipment Heat 1, pulled away on the restart.
Tucker Richards finished second. Fast qualifier Brian Strane Jr. was third. Chad Stouthamer was fourth. Tim Brannam finished fifth.
Adam Taylor scored his first 25-lap AutoMeter Powered by Gandrud Performance Wisconsin WingLESS Sprints feature win at Wilmot Raceway.
