MORRIS, Ill. — For the second consecutive season the Grundy County Speedway will race under the NASCAR Local Racing Series powered by O’Reilly Auto Parts banner.
For the 2026 season, the Big 8 Style Late Models, Mid Ams, Street Stocks, and Pure Stocks will all compete under the NASCAR banner.
Drivers in these divisions will have the opportunity to earn NASCAR national, regional, and state points, as well as compete for championships within the Weekly Series structure. In addition, eligible competitors will have the chance to contend for the NASCAR Rookie of the Year program, giving first-year drivers an opportunity to showcase their talent on a larger stage while competing for additional awards.
The Big 8 Style Late Models are set for a nine-race schedule during the 2026 season, highlighted by several key dates throughout the summer. The division will compete on May 2nd, May 15th, June 6th, June 26th, July 24th, August 1st, August 21st, September 4th, and September 12th.
Five of those events, May 15th, June 6th, June 26th, July 24th, and August 1st will be Double Feature nights. In addition to the track provided point fund NASCAR will pay out $3,500 to the Champion, $2,000 for second, $1,200 for third, $1,000 for fourth and $800 for fifth.
The Mid Am division is set for a full 15-race schedule during the 2026 season, highlighted by a Special on May 8th and a Double Feature night on June 19th. In addition to competing for the track championship, Mid Am drivers will also race for an enhanced point fund through the NASCAR Local Racing Series. In addition to the track provided point fund NASCAR will pay out $1,000 to the champion, $800 for second, $500 for third, $400 for fourth, and $300 for fifth.
The D’Arcy Motors Street Stocks are slated for a busy 2026 campaign, competing in 15 races across 14 nights, highlighted by the Street Stock Special on June 12th and Double Features event on June 19th. In addition to racing for the track championship, drivers will also benefit from the NASCAR Local Racing Series point fund, with additional payouts of $1,000 to the Champion, $800 for second, $500 for third, $400 for fourth, and $300 for fifth.
The VRS Reality Pure Stocks are set for an action-packed 2026 season, competing in 17 races across 16 nights, including a Double Feature event on June 19th. NASCAR will also pay out an additional $700 to the Champion, $400 for second, $350 for third, $300 for fourth and $250 for fifth. New for 2026 is the VRS Pure Stock Challenge Series. This will be a separate point battle within the season-long standings. This will be 6 races, separate points and bonus money on the line for each event.
