BOONE, Iowa — The Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts headlined their only night of action at the Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s with a 25-lap Big Dance.
Ninety-five entries signed in, with 30 starters qualifying to battle in the biggest race of the season for the division.
Dillon Richards, the 2017 National Sport Compact champion, delivered a dominant drive to claim his first career Super Nationals crown.
After an early red flag on the initial start, 2024 National Rookie of the Year Johnny Thomas paced the opening lap before Richards surged to the top spot on lap three. Brad Chandler reeled in Richards by lap eight, challenging hard for the lead until a flat right-rear tire spoiled his bid and left Richards in command.
From there, Richards checked out on the field and never looked back, sealing the win for the Beatrice, Neb., driver.
2023 Junior National champion Sean Leasure raced to second, while 2025 Stuart Speedway track champion Michael Gardner charged from 21st to third with 18 successful passes.
Brandon Reu took fourth and two-time Super Nationals winner Devin Jones was fifth.
Thomas finished sixth, followed by Benton County Speedway champion Cristian Grady in seventh and three-time Benton County titlist Lukas Rick in eighth. Prelude winner Dyllan Bonk crossed ninth, with Terry Bickford completing the top 10.
The event was broadcast live on IMCA TV. Catch the replay with a monthly IMCA TV Replay Subscription for $24.99/month, and don’t miss Season 2 of the Boone Docuseries, streaming exclusively on IMCA TV.
