LOXLEY, Ala. — Brandon Overton claimed the $5,000 victory on the opening night of the Hunt the Front Southern Showcase at Deep South Speedway Friday night.
Overton led every lap from the pole to earn his 15th feature victory of the season and make him the favorite for Saturday’s $22,000-to-win main event.
Payton Freeman finished second, with Joseph Joiner, Josh Putnam and Spencer Hughes rounding out the top five.
Overton was also the fast qualifier for the 31-car field.
