Solomito Dodges Wall Stadium Debris

WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A green-white-checkered finish resulted in chaos and Tommy Solomito claiming victory in Saturday’s Turkey Derby 150 at Wall Stadium Speedway.

After a late yellow flag, saw race dominator Matt Hirschman and the other front runners pit for fresh tires, other racers stayed out on worn rubber for the final laps.

As Hirschman and Jimmy Blewett raced back into contention behind leader Andy Jankowiak, the duo tangled with Hirschman spinning.

That set up the green-white-checkered finish. When Jankowiak and Blewett crashed racing for the lead, Solomito sailed into the lead.

He held off Eddie McCarthy to pocket the $15,000 top prize.

Max Zachem, Andrew Krause and Luke Baldwin completed the top five.

Hirschman wound up seventh.
