Queen & Loftin Lead North-South Shootout Fields

ASHEBORO, N.C. — Brenden Queen earned the pole for the CARS Tour late model stock portion of the 21stannual North-South Shootout during qualifying Friday at Caraway Speedway.

Queen turned a best lap of 16.733 seconds on the third-mile asphalt oval to best second-place Landon Huffman.

Bobby McCarty, Zack Miracle and Mini Tyrrell rounded out the top five in the 27-car field.

Cade Kvapil led the way in pro late model qualifying.

The CARS tour shares the bill with the tour-type modifieds. Carson Loftin was the quick qualifier for the John Blewett Memorial, besting a 22-car field with a 15.889-second lap. Matt Hirschman qualified second.

Luke Baldwin leads the 602 modified field.
