Zilisch Cleared To Compete At Daytona

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Connor Zilisch has been cleared to compete in Friday night’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Daytona Int’l Speedway.

The series point leader broke his collarbone when he fell from his JR Motorsports Chevrolet while celebrating a victory Aug. 8 at Watkins Glen (N.Y.) Int’l.

He underwent surgery to repair the injury two days later.

Zilisch, who has won six races this season plans to start the race, but the team will have Parker Kligerman on standby as a relief driver if needed.
