TOLEDO, Ohio — Trevor Huddleston (No. 50 High Point Racing / Racecar Factory Ford) had a nearly perfect night on Saturday night at California’s Shasta Speedway.
He was fastest in practice, earned his first Sioux Chief PowerPEX Pole Award of the season in qualifying, and led every lap but one to score his 10th career ARCA Menards West win in the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame Bill Schmitt Memorial 173.
By virtue of the victory, Huddleston unofficially extends his lead in the series’ championship standings to 12 points over runner-up Mason Massey (No. 19 NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet).
• Cole Denton (No. 71 Jan’s Towing Ford) scored his second consecutive top-two finish, crossing the finish line in second 1.897 seconds behind Huddleston. Denton won the previous ARCA Menards West race at Tucson Speedway.
• Massey, the winner in the season opener at Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway, rebounded from an eleventh-place finish at Tucson with a third-place finish at Shasta. Massey was the only other driver to lead a lap, nosing his car ahead at the line to lead the first lap after starting outside the front row.
• Andrew Chapman (No. 55 High Point Racing / Racecar Factory Ford) finished fourth, his first top-five finish since he finished third at All American Speedway seven starts ago. His finish gave team owner Tim Huddleston two cars in the top five.
• Robbie Kennealy (No.1 Jan’s Towing Ford) finished fifth, his second consecutive top-five finish and third straight top-ten. His finish gave team owner Jan Qualkenbush two cars in the top five as well.
• Eric Johnson, Jr. (No. 5 Sherwin-Williams Toyota) finished sixth, his second straight top-10 finish. Johnson unofficially sits fifth in the series’ championship standings, 29 points out of the lead.
• Hailie Deegan (No. 16 Monster Energy / NAPA Chevrolet) raced as high as third in the middle stages of the race but was trapped in the outside line on two late-race restarts that dropped her to seventh at the finish.
