GLORY DAYS: Supermodifieds At Salem

Salem (Ind.) Speedway returned to action after a six-and-a-half year layoff with a doubleheader card featuring supermodifieds and midgets on Oct. 25, 1987.

Doug Saunier took the lead in the supermodified main event when Gene Lee Gibson broke a rear-end gear while leading. Saunier led the rest of the way for the victory with Gary Fedeway and Jim Shirey rounding out the top three.

Rich Vogler held off Jim Keeker to capture the midget feature.
