CONCORD, N.C. — This weekend’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races have been cancelled.
With Precision Weather Service models projecting heavy rain beginning Thursday night and lasting through nearly the entire weekend in both Park City, Kan., and Colcord, Okla., expecting to bring more than an inch of precipitation to 81 Speedway and Arrowhead Speedway and forecast cold temperatures preventing any potential track drying efforts, World of Outlaws and track officials have agreed to cancel both the Wichita Sprint Car Showdown and Jason Johnson Classic presented by FK Rod Ends.
The series now shifts its focus to the season-concluding World of Outlaws World Finals at The Dirt Track at Charlotte on Nov. 5-8.
