Howard Holds Off Cup Series Challengers

EASTABOGA, Ala. — Dale Howard raced from the pole to victory lane in Friday night’s 25-lap  Talladega Short Track Shootout feature for the United Sprint Car Series.

Howard held off the challenges of a pair of NASCAR Cup Series drivers to claim the victory on the quarter-mile dirt track.

Stenhouse started second and held the spot throughout, while Briscoe, who was making his USCS debut, romped from fifth to finish third.

Terry Gray came home fourth, with Chase Howard fifth.
