Davie Franek Tops USCS Opener

CLEWISTON, Fla. — New Jersey sprint car driver Davie Franek raced from the pole to win Friday night’s USCS Snow-Free Sprint Car Winter Nationals opener at Hendry County Motorsports Park.

Canadian Jacob Dykstra chased Franek across the finish line with reigning series champion Danny Smith finishing third.

Thirteen-time USCS Outlaw Thunder Tour champion Terry Gray followed in fourth place. Mark Ruel Jr., who won the 2021 USCS Southern Most Sprint Car Nationals at the track in November, rounded out the top five.

Ruel started 20th and passed 15 cars to garner the Wilwood Disc Brakes Hard Charger Award.
