Cold Weather Stops Port Royal

PORT ROYAL, Pa. — Following midweek snowfall, anticipated low temperatures and likely snow and rain in the forecast, Port Royal Speedway officials have canceled Saturday’s racing event at the half-mile dirt track.

“With many of our drivers and fans traveling from afar and with the element of the unknown lingering into the upcoming weekend, we feel it is in the best interest of all the parties involved to cancel now instead of chancing an unlikely change of forcecast,” read a statement from track officials.

Port Royal hopes to return to action with events on March 19 and 20.
