BARRE, Vt. — For the first time in recent memory, a Thursday came and went in Barre Vermont that was not affected by the rainy-wrath of Mother Nature.
Scott Dragon took the checkered flag in the late model headliner at Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl.
Rookie Trevor Jaques and Stephen Martin led the Maplefields/Irving Oil Late Models under the green flag with a mirror full of Dragon.
Dragon took over the top spot around Martin on lap nine just before a chain reaction on the frontstretch ended the night for Stephen Donahue and Scott Coburn.
Dragon took off from position No. 1 on the return to green-flag racing and never looked back in the final 65 laps to walk away with the Times Argus Midseason Championship over Martin and point leader Jason Corliss.
Michael MacAskill won the Flying Tiger feature and Tyler Wheatley topped the street stock main event. Derrick Mann aced the Road Warrior event.
