BARBERVILLE, Fla. — Volusia Speedway Park is bringing one of its most exciting yearlong schedules yet in 2027.
Loaded with marquee events, “Fab 5” brawls, and new surprises, “The World’s Fastest Half Mile” will give people plenty of reasons to visit Volusia County, January through December.
“Fab 5” championship battles will be mixed in throughout the year, again putting track titles on the line for 604 Late Models, 602 Late Models, DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, Factory Stocks, and 3/4 Modifieds.
THE SEASON STARTS HERE
Volusia Speedway Park will again help kick off the 2027 season for the premier national dirt racing series, starting in January with a “Late Model Palooza” – the World of Outlaws Sunshine Nationals, Jan. 27-30.
Firmly set as the season opener for the World of Outlaws Late Model Series presented by DIRTVision, Sunshine Nationals has been rebranded as the World of Outlaws Sunshine Nationals, further building national recognition for the growing event. Giving fans four days of nothing but Late Models, the World of Outlaws will be joined by Crate Racin’ USA (604) Late Models, and 602 Late Models.
Sunshine Nationals will lead directly into three weeks of “#FLinFeb” with the 56th Running of Federated Auto Parts DIRTcar Nationals, Feb. 4-20. Week 1 (Feb. 4-6) brings the American Sprint Car Series back to Volusia for three straight days, paired with the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds.
Week 2 (Feb. 8-13) is the “iron man” week for the Modifieds, as more than 100 cars will compete all six days, leading to the Gator Championship Feature on Saturday. They’ll be joined by the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series for four straight days of The Greatest Show on Dirt, Feb. 10-13.
Then, Week 3 (Feb. 15-20) will bring fans more Late Model action with DIRTcar Late Models opening the week, Feb. 15-17, before the World of Outlaws Late Models return for the conclusion of their Florida Swing, Feb. 18-20. The Super DIRTcar Series will have an expanded presence in 2027, racing for five straight days, Feb. 16-20. Big Gator champions will be crowned at the end of each week.
A couple of weeks after the dirt settles from DIRTcar Nationals, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars return for one of Florida’s most iconic weeks – Bike Week. The fifth running of the World of Outlaws Bike Week Jamboree will give two-wheel fans a taste of four-wheel 410 c.i. madness. Factory Stocks will join the World of Outlaws both nights.
THE FAB FAVORITES
The “Fab 5” divisions will be the stars of the 2027 season with 11 events throughout the year, and several of them will include something special for drivers and fans.
The Benny Corbin Memorial (March 19-20) will open the championship season as a doubleheader event. Allowing drivers to step into the season without having to put everything on the line the first night, Friday’s portion of the event will be a non-points race made up of Hot Lap/Qualifying and Features for the “Fab 5” divisions, followed by an open practice for all divisions. Then, Saturday will serve as the championship season-opener, highlighted by the $2,098-to-win Factory Stock race.
In May, a $2,500 payday will be on the line for the 604 Late Models during the Wild Card 25 (May 8).
July will bring something new in 2027 with two doses of “Fab 5” action – the Firecracker Showdown, (July 3), featuring a fireworks show, and Christmas in July (July 10), which will serve as the new night for the bike donations and Toys for Tots collection.
Labor Day weekend will again present the two-day Labor Day Classic (Sept. 3-4), presenting a special purse for all five divisions.
The “Fab 5” season will conclude at the Prelude to the Reutimann (Nov. 13), awarding double points for an exciting championship finale.
THE SPECIALS
In addition to the monthly “Fab 5” racing, Volusia will have multiple special events for drivers and fans to enjoy throughout the year.
The Top Gun Sprint Car Series will return three times in 2027. The first will be during the Friday night Top Gun Classic (Aug. 27), pairing the winged warriors with NASCAR’s Daytona weekend. Then, they’ll return a couple of weeks later for the Battle in Barberville (Sept. 18) before joining the Emil and Dale Reutimann Memorial on Friday, Nov. 19.
The 14th Annual Emil and Dale Reutimann Memorial (Nov. 18-20), the most prestigious event of the year for DIRTcar UMP Modified competitors, will honor one of dirt racing’s most cherished families while giving the division’s stars a chance to win the illustrious $10,000 grand prize.
To close out the year, Volusia has created a new event to support the “little guys” of the sport – those who pour their hearts into the smaller dirt racing divisions – the Little Guy Nationals (Dec. 3-4). The two-day event will make drivers in the Factory Stock, Street Stock, Crown Vic, 3/4 Modified, and Gladiator the stars of the event. The first night will present Hot Lap/Qualifying and Features, followed by an open practice for all divisions and a post-race party. Then, Saturday’s event will be a full race program.
