NASHVILLE — A massive weekend of racing came to a thrilling close on Saturday night, April 19 at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, as the Spring Nationals wrapped up with a jam-packed schedule featuring Pro Late Models, Street Stocks, and a final round of CP Race Wear Bandolero and U.S. Air Force Legend Car features.
A grand total of 162 race cars filled the infield and back pit areas, making it one of the most attended opening events in recent Fairgrounds history.
The headline event of the evening, the 100-lap Pro Late Model feature, showcased the dominance of Chase Johnson, who began his campaign by setting fast time in qualifying. Johnson quickly took control at the drop of the green, leading the first 50 laps until a competition caution briefly reset the field.
On the restart, Max Reaves surged to the front and led a few laps before Johnson charged back by and stretched his lead over the final segment to capture the win in convincing fashion. Hunter Wright raced into second, while Reaves, Corey Deuser, and Anthony Bello finished off the top five.
Earlier in the night, Dillon Oliver earned a flag-to-flag victory in the 30-lap Street Stock A-Main, taking full advantage of his front-row starting position after qualifying second. Blaine Akin took second, while Matt Barnes, Michael Pannell, and Gus Moody completed the top five.
The CP Race Wear Bandolero divisions once again brought intensity and excitement, highlighted by Brexton Busch—the son of NASCAR star Kyle Busch—who picked up his third win in as many starts in the Bandit class. Jacob Hassey emerged victorious in the Beginner Bandolero division, while Landon Thrasher continued his strong form by adding another Outlaw Bandolero victory to his weekend sweep.
In U.S. Air Force Legend Car Series action, Michael Crafton earned a commanding win in the headlining feature, while Chase Burgeson outdueled a stout 23-car field in the Semi-Pro division. Ben Morabito claimed another victory in the Young Lions, and Bryson Carlbert topped the Charger class.
