ESTEVAN, Saskatchewan — Tom Berry Jr. picked up right where he left off the night before, charging to the front early and surviving a late restart to win the second round of the 2026 Dakota Classic Modified Tour powered by Industrial Electric Monday night at Estevan Motor Speedway.
Brady Bjella paced the opening lap of the 30-lap Karl Kustoms IMCA Modified feature and quickly established a comfortable advantage while Tanner Black and Berry battled for second. Berry secured the runner-up position on lap five and immediately set his sights on the leader.
The two-time Dakota Tour champion tracked down Bjella in short order and beat him to the stripe to lead lap seven. Once out front, Berry steadily pulled away while Black, originally from Arizona and now living in Kansas, climbed into second on lap 13.
Berry encountered lapped traffic beginning on lap 15 but sliced through it with ease, opening a commanding lead over the field before a caution with three laps remaining erased his advantage.
The 2020 IMCA Modified national champion and 2022 Speedway Motors IMCA Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s winner executed a flawless restart and cruised away over the final circuits.
Starting sixth in the Mike Wedelstadt-owned No. 11X, the Marshalltown, Iowa, driver, originally from Medford, Oregon, earned his 12th career Dakota Tour victory and second at Estevan Motor Speedway. The triumph marked his second consecutive series win, sixth Razor Chassis North Central Region victory of the season at six different tracks.
The battle for second went down to the final lap as defending Marshalltown Speedway champion Kollin Hibdon, originally from Nevada and now racing out of Iowa, traded positions with Black before Black claimed the runner-up spot. Hibdon settled for third.
Two-time defending Dakota Tour champion Ethan Braaksma, of Newton, Iowa, rallied to finish fourth in the Danny Meier and Trent Guest-owned No. 111, while Wisconsin’s 2024 state champion Cole Czarneski charged from 14th to fifth.
Shelby Williams patiently stalked Brendon LaBatte before making the winning move late to capture the Sunoco IMCA Stock Car feature.
LaBatte grabbed the early lead and repeatedly turned back challenges from Williams during the opening stages of the 25-lap main event. Each time Williams closed the gap, LaBatte found enough speed to keep the Bonham, Texas, driver at bay, but Williams refused to go away.
The 2025 IMCA TV Winter Nationals champion reeled LaBatte back in during the closing laps and executed a perfectly timed move to the inside in turn two on lap 19 to seize the lead.
A caution one lap later erased Williams’ advantage, but he delivered a perfect restart to pull away over the final circuits.
The victory was Williams’ fourth career Dakota Tour triumph and ninth IMCA Stock Car win of the 2026 season, with his last three victories coming in the EQ Cylinder Heads Northern Region.
Double-duty driver Cole Czarneski climbed to second late after a lengthy battle with LaBatte. LaBatte completed the podium, defending Estevan Motor Speedway track champion Kyle Scholpp finished fourth, and 2026 Nodak Speedway track champion Brock Beeter rounded out the top five.
