ST. LOUIS — Ricky Thornton Jr. led all 25 laps to win Friday night’s late model feature during the Gateway Dirt Nationals at The Dome at America’s Center.
It was the second consecutive night that the race winner led every lap.
Thornton held off Nick Hoffman the entire distance on the fifth-mile oval to collect his 26th dirt late model triumph of the season and earn $5,000.
Hoffman came home second, with Gordy Gundaker, Myles Moos and Freddie Carpenter completing the top five.
Thornton was the fast qualifier for the 66-car field with a lap of 12.098 seconds.
