Cook Hunts Down $8,000 Mississippi Score

MERIDIAN, Miss. — Dalton Cook shot from sixth to the lead on a late-race restart to win Friday night’s preliminary feature for the House of Hook Showdown at Whynot Motorsports Park.

Cook banked $8,000 for winning the Hunt The Front Super Dirt Series main event.

Cook, who started ninth, took advantage of a lap-35 restart to charge past leader Brandon Overton and held off Joseph Joiner for the victory.

Jimmy Owens romped from 28th starting position to finish third.

Zack Mitchell and B.J. Robinson completed the top five.

Josh Putnam was the fast qualifier for the 45-car field with a lap of 12.617 seconds.
