Mike Eddy Dies At Age 72

Seven-time ASA stock car champion Mike Eddy died on Thursday. He was 72 years old

Known for his rivalry with Bob Senneker during the 1970s and 1980s, Eddy won 58 ASA national races during his heyday and was both liked and disliked by racing fans for his aggressive driving style.

Eddy’s son Travis confirmed his dad’s death on social media on Thursday.

Among Eddy’s many crown jewel victories are the Winchester 400, Red Bud 400, World Crown 300 and the Governor’s Cup 300.

Eddy won his first ASA championship in 1974 and his seventh came in 1992.
