Larson Is Quickest In Xfinity Series Practice

SONOMA, Calif. — Kyle Larson was nearly a second faster than his closest challenger during Friday’s practice session for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Sonoma Raceway.

Larson turned a lap of 79.255 seconds in his Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, which put him far ahead of Richard Childress Racing driver Sheldon Creed, whose best circuit was 80.435 seconds.

Saturday’s Door Dash 250 will be the first Xfinity Series race at the scenic Northern California road course.

A.J. Allmendinger was third in a Kaulig Racing Chevrolet, while Cole Custer was fourth in a Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, with Ty Gibbs fifth in a Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota.

Forty-one cars made practice laps.

Anthony Alfredo crashed his No. 78 machine into a tire barrier during the session. Qualifying will be run Saturday morning.
