Power Rankings: Gravel Storms To The Top

It’s time for a new edition of SPEED SPORT Power Rankings. Who will be on top this week?

  1. David Gravel

World of Outlaws point leader David Gravel swept a pair of races at Canada’s Ohsweken Speedway to give him eight victories on the season. Gravel has finished in the top 10 in all 23 of his races this season. Last Week: 4

  1. Alex Palou

Alex Palou has won four of the five NTT IndyCar Series races and is among the favorites to win the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Last Week: 1

  1. Kyle Larson

Kyle Larson has qualified for his second Indianapolis 500 and will seek to do double duty with the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday. Larson is a three-time NASCAR Cup Series winner and has victories in numerous other series this season. Last Week: 2

  1. Oscar Piastri

Formula 1 point leader Oscar Piastri finished third in Sunday’s Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari. Piastri has won four of the seven races this season. Last Week: 3

  1. Bobby Pierce

Bobby Pierce claimed $30,000 for winning the Connor Bobik Memorial at Marion Center Raceway. It was his 13th dirt late model triumph of the season. Last Week: 6

  1. Rico Abreu

Rico Abreu captured his fifth sprint car victory of the season at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway. It was also his third High Limit Racing triumph of the campaign. Last Week: 8

  1. Justin Grant

Justin Grant earned USAC Silver Crown and midget triumphs at Belleville, Kan., over the weekend. Grant now has two victories in all three (Silver Crown, midget, sprint car) USAC national divisions this season. Last Week: Not Ranked.

 

  1. Ricky Thornton Jr.

Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series point leader Ricky Thornton Jr. claimed two victories during the week, including the $50,000 Malvern Bank High Banks Heist at Nebraska’s Eagle Raceway. Thornton has 13 victories this year. Last Week: Not Ranked

  1. Christopher Bell

Christopher Bell used a late-race caution flag to his advantage and stole the $1 million top prize for winning the NASCAR All-Star Race from Joey Logano Sunday at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Bell also has three Cup Series triumphs this year. Last Week: Not Ranked

  1. Anthony Macri

Anthony Macri grabbed his seventh 410 winged sprint car victory of the campaign Saturday night at Pennsylvania’s Port Royal Speedway. Last Week: 10

On The Move: Justin Grant, Ricky Thornton Jr. and Christopher Bell all re-entered the top-10 in the power rankings this week.
