GAS CITY, Ind. — A grassroots effort is underway to save Gas City Speedway.
The quarter-mile Indiana dirt track did not operate in 2024 after holding only a handful of events during the 2023 season.
Created by Cody Vaught, the Save Gas City Speedway movement is highlighted by an online petition that supporters can sign.
Started last week, more than 3,500 people have already signed the petition.
“Gas City Speedway has long been a key part of short-track racing, and we believe it deserves a future,” Vaught told SPEED SPORT. “Right now, our main goal is gathering as many signatures and as much fan support as possible.”
Commonly known as Gas City I-69 Speedway through most of its existence, the track opened in 1987.
