The 2024 season was Alexander Rossi’s best effort from a statistical standpoint since 2019 as he finished 10th in the NTT IndyCar Series standings.
With an average finish of 10.4 and 10 top-10 finishes in 16 races, the Arrow McLaren driver saw massive improvement over last season. Rossi, however, failed to reach victory lane for a second straight year.
The low point of his season came in a practice crash in July on the streets of Toronto where the 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner broke his right thumb. That sidelined the driver of the No. 7 Chevrolet for the weekend as he underwent surgery. He’d miss only one race, however, and finish out the season.
Rossi added one podium result during the campaign at California’s WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca (third). He also capped off a strong month of May at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a fourth-place finish in the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
Next season, Rossi will pilot Ed Carpenter Racing’s No. 20 Chevrolet after Christian Lundgaard was named the driver of the No. 7 for Arrow McLaren. It will be Rossi’s 10th season in the series.
