One may have thought the deck was stacked against Dale Blaney entering Saturday night’s World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series race at Sharon Speedway.
The 61-year-old Sprint Car Racing Hall of Famer had only raced five times this season and he was taking the best racers in the country while driving the red No. 10 owned by his older brother, fellow Hall of Famer Dave Blaney.
But the Blaney brothers had speed and experience on their side at their home race track. Dale Blaney started the race fifth and grabbed the lead from Cole Macedo on lap 12.
He held off Buddy Kofoid for his first World of Outlaws triumph in 10 years and the 12th of his career.
