SEALED UNDER PRESSURE: Austin Prock

Austin Prock was on top of his game Sunday afternoon at Minnesota’s Brainerd Int’l Raceway. Prock averaged a .047 reaction time over his four runs during eliminations for the NHRA Mission Foods Funny Car class and turned in a .043 reaction time en route to his final round victory over J.R. Todd.

Prock won for the sixth time this season and for the 14th time in the past two years giving the John Force Racing pilot a 242-point lead over teammate Jack Beckman. Prock, whose car is tuned by his dad Jimmy Prock, must merely qualify for the U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park to secure the $150,000 regular-season title.
