Xtreme Midget Series Penalizes McIntosh

CONCORD, N.C. — Cannon McIntosh has been penalized by Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series officials and stands to lose his May 25 victory at North Carolina’s Millbridge Speedway and $7,120.

A tire sample taken from McIntosh’s Dave Mac Motorsports machine “did not match or conform to the benchmarks provided by Hoosier Tire Co. Additional analysis verified the initial laboratory findings,” according to the penalty report issued by Xtreme officials.

The penalty includes the loss of the $5,000 winner’s check, a $120 tire analysis fee and a $2,000 fine. McIntosh and the Dave Mac Motorsports No. 08 will also be suspended from the next two Xtreme Outlaw Midget Series events.

As a result, Taylor Reimer stands to become the first female driver to win a national midget race, as she finished second to McIntosh at Millbridge.

However, nothing will be official until the appeals process concludes.
