Sprint Rankings: Gravel Stretches His Advantage

After winning Sunday night’s World of Outlaws feature at Weedsport (N.Y.) Speedway, David Gravel remains on top of the National Sprint Car Rankings this week.

Gravel, who has won 11 races this season, has an average finish of 3.533 in 45 starts. Ninety-one drivers have now made the required 20 starts to be eligible for the National Sprint Car Rankings, while 677 drivers have run at least one 410 winged sprint car feature this season.

Ohio sprint car racer Cap Henry is currently second with a 4.8 average finish in 25 starts.

Kyle Larson ranks third with an average finish of 5.897.

A winner at Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway on Saturday night, Rico Abreu moves up to fourth in the rankings, while Buddy Kofoid is fifth.

D.J. Netto (Western Region), Anthony Macri (Eastern), Henry (Great Lakes), Ryan Timms (Great Plains), A.J. Flick (PA-OH) and Jesse Schlotfeldt (Northwestern) retained their regional leads.

One hundred and 20 drivers have combined to win 283 features thus far this season.

Gravel and Abreu lead the nation with 11 victories each.
