IMPERIAL, Pa. — The annual Western PA Speedweek kicked off Thursday night at Pittsburgh’s PA Motor Speedway with Brandon Spithaler claiming the victory.
Spithaler started his No. 32b third on the grid won the 25-lap event on the half-mile race track to bank the $3,500 top prize.
Jeremy Weaver started outside the front row and led the first nine laps before Spithaler took control on lap 10 and led the rest of the way. Weaver finished second, while Matt Farnham worked his way forward from ninth on the grid to finish third.
Carl Bowser and Michael Bauer completed the top five in the 27-car field.
Timmy Bitner won the 305 sprint car feature.
