There was no stopping Michael “Buddy” Kofoid at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park.
Kofoid drove the Roth Motorsports No. 83 sprint car to a pair of World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series victories on the third-mile race track running his winning streak with the series to three consecutive events.
Kofoid started on the pole and led every lap en route to winning Friday night’s $12,000 top prize, collecting his 25th career victory with the series.
On Saturday night, Kofoid started sixth and waged a furious battle with two-time World of Outlaws champion David Gravel, which saw the pair trade the lead several times before Kofoid drove away to win by .146 seconds, scoring his national-best fourth victory of the season.
