Dominant Daum Conquers Port City

TULSA, Okla. — Zach Daum would cruise to back-to-back victories at Port City Raceway on Saturday night, earning his 26th career feature win with the POWRi National and West Midget Leagues in Night Two of the annual Charlene Meents Memorial after leading all 30 laps of the feature event.

Launching the feature field would find high-point qualifier Zach Daum and Karter Sarff leading the field to the green flag, with Daum gaining the initial advantage on the opening lap.

Dominating the feature from start to finish, Zach Daum would remain untouchable out front, maintaining command through multiple restarts and separating himself from the field by more than two seconds. Going virtually uncontested throughout the 30-lap feature, Daum would cruise to his second consecutive victory of the weekend, with Kale Drake earning runner-up honors for the second straight night as Ethan Mitchell completed the podium when the checkered flag flew.

“We didn’t touch hardly a thing all weekend on this car, Jody Rosenboom and team have this thing on a rail right now, and it’s just fun to drive. We have a happy race car right now,” said Daum. “Thirty laps up on the cushion, I didn’t think I still had that in me; time to have a beer and head home a winner.”

Remaining in contention throughout the feature, Karter Sarff would finish fourth, with Kyle Jones recovering and charging past 11 competitors to round out the top five.
