Thomas Outruns Arizona 360 Competitors

CASA GRANDE, Ariz. — USAC veteran Kevin Thomas Jr. was one of several drivers doing double duty during Friday’s opening night of the Western World Championship at Central Arizona Raceway.

Thomas raced from third starting position to win the Sands Chevrolet Wild West Sprints main event for 360 c.i. non-winged sprint cars.

Thomas held off fellow USAC racer Daison Pursley to claim the victory.

Stevie Sussex III, R.J. Johnson and modified veteran Chas Baca completed the top five.
